A person could have one <a href=\"http:\/\/depression.zone\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/bigstock-Suicide-From-Pills-Overdose-73802128.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1294\" src=\"http:\/\/depression.zone\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/bigstock-Suicide-From-Pills-Overdose-73802128-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Factors that raise the likelihood of suicide\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>or more of the risk factors to be considered vulnerable, though, it&#8217;s often a combination.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Factors that raise the likelihood of depression and suicide<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3>1) Dealing with difficult life circumstances:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Having a history of trauma or abuse and not having dealt with it using therapeutic tools<\/li>\n<li>Major financial loss<\/li>\n<li>Job loss<\/li>\n<li>Loss of valuable relationship<\/li>\n<li>The death of a close loved one<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2) Actions that can worsen mood and lead to major depression:<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"list\">\n<li>Abusing substances like alcohol and drugs<\/li>\n<li>Having already tried to commit suicide makes you more prone to considering it as an option faster than other people<\/li>\n<li>Not eating enough daily calories or carbohydrates (which are important for brain energy)<\/li>\n<li>Eating too many processed foods and sugars<\/li>\n<li>Not getting enough physical exercise<\/li>\n<li>Spending too much time alone (up to three days without seeing or speaking to anyone)<\/li>\n<li>Doing something you deeply believes goes against your morality &#8211; what you believe is right or wrong. If you&#8217;ve done something you consider bad it could cause you a great deal of emotional pain. It could be a severe as committing a crime, cheating on a partner or even having sex if you are raised in a religion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>3) Environments that can increase the risk of depression and\/or suicide:<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"list\">\n<li>Family history of mental health issues or suicide attempts<\/li>\n<li>Living in household of trauma or abuse or being in an environment (ie. school or work) where you feel trauma regularly<\/li>\n<li>Easy to access lethal means like guns or drugs or dangerous objects<\/li>\n<li>Living in an area where local suicides have occurred<\/li>\n<li>Lack of social support and sense of isolationLack of health care, especially mental health and substance abuse treatment<\/li>\n<li>Not having financial stability or living in poverty<\/li>\n<li>Cultural and religious beliefs, such as the belief that suicide is a noble resolution of a personal dilemma<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to others who have died by suicide (in real life or via the media and Internet)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>4) Having an underlying medical disorder or mental illness that&#8217;s affecting mood:<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"list\">\n<li>Mental disorders, particularly mood disorders, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders and certain personality disorders<\/li>\n<li>Major physical illnesses<\/li>\n<li>Illness that has you deal with daily physical pain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>5) Having a weak emotional IQ:<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"list\">\n<li>Never having learned how to properly deal with your emotions.
